Job Summary: The Afloat Senior Network Engineer will act as senior technical advisor to Strike Group staff N6s supporting the Carrier Strike Group (CSG), Destroyer Squadrons (DESRON) and the Expeditionary Strike Group /Amphibious Ready Group (ESG/ARG) during installation, testing and troubleshooting of C4 ISR systems on afloat units homeported or operating out of Bahrain. Provide end-to-end technical support for C4 ISR, RF, and IT systems; assist CSG/DESRON/ESG staffs with speed-to-capability technology insertions; provide feedback to COMSPAWAR/PEO C4 I/PEO EIS on system performance, design and logistics issues. Base Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 /Annually Responsibilities/Duties: Provide assist in troubleshooting C4 ISR issues and make recommendations concerning issue resolution and system employment and optimization. Work with shipboard technicians, CONUS based FSEs, In Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) and other technicians, installation engineers, Fleet Readiness Directorate staff, and others as required to ensure required end-to-end connectivity to satisfy fleet C4 ISR requirements. Document issues and resolution of issues using ITSM. Provide OJT on systems for shipboard and shore technicians. May be required to mentor civilian/government technicians. Assist shipboard technicians in preparation of systems for inspections. Assist with SOVT, SOT, C4 I Readiness Reviews (CRR) Must be capable of working independently with little or no supervision in a high operations tempo environment, and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including underway shipboard embarkations and overseas travel. Primary work aboard Navy ships and may be based out of a government office/lab when not required aboard ship. (Top Secret SCI preferred) Knowledge of ADNS, ISNS and CANES environment and operations desired. Experience with Information Assurance - HBSS, Mc Afee e Policy Orchestrator, ACAS, VRAM and WSUS required. Experience using ITSM for ticket documentation/resolution desired. Experience with US Naval RF systems highly desired. Must be able to provide OJT to technical personnel and review/understand technical documentation. Must be able to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity involving multiple sites and systems. Working knowledge of storage technologies including Net App, IBM and EMC storage highly desired. Experience in some of the following required: Active Directory, Group Policies, Exchange 2007/2010/2016, TMG/WSAV proxy servers, Alcatel Switches 7700/6800, CISCO routers and switches, VMWare, Net App and/or IBM Storage. Familiarity with configuring/troubleshooting servers, Cisco Routers/Switches or Alcatel Switches, Cisco Access Control Lists, TCP/IP, and security protocols required. Knowledge of Command and Control display systems such as GCCS-M preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Knowledge of networking, fleet communications systems and architectures required. Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing. Must be able to communicate well with senior Navy officials and technical personnel. Must be able to provide training to Navy personnel. Ability to work with a team to resolve complex problems across multiple systems required. Work, at times, other than normal work week hours may be required. May be required to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Individual must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted and meet U. S. Navy medical requirements. Education/Certifications: BS in Information Technology (or equivalent technical degree) and 3 years technical experience. Or 7 years technical experience with Afloat Navy or Marine Corps C4 I required. Certification as IAT2 (per Do D Inst 8750.1 and Navy requirements) with appropriate IA certification required and computing environment certification highly desired. Operating systems can include Cisco, Unix (Linux/Solaris), and/or Windows 2008(R2), 2012, 2016, Win7 and Win10. VMWare. Minimum of 3 years of experience with Navy C4 I.
